The fascinating opening ceremony of the Chengdu FISU World University Games was being held on July 28 at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Stadium. Up until August 8, a total of 6500 student-athletes from 113 countries and regions will be competing at the Chengdu FISU games.

The acting president of the International University Sports Federation, Leonz Eder told SFC reporter that he likes   the opening ceremony very much, because it was really for young people.

Gianni Merlo, president of the International Sports Press Association suggests that the opening ceremony has conveyed the message that it is not only a sport event, but also a sport event of the young generation, that promotes young generation to work unitedly.
